South Alton Ride Park
SOUTH ALTON RIDE PARK IS CLOSED FOR THE SEASON
Details and Description:
Located at 3700 Hwy 12 in South Alton, Kings County, South Alton Ride Park is situated on Swinimer Rd. This is an abandoned county road which can be a bit rough, but is navigable by car (carefully) SUV's, trucks and higher clearance vehicles are preferred. You will come to a closed steel gate with a NSORRA sign affixed to it when you reach the park. This gate is NOT locked and can be opened by lifting the pin and swinging the gate in.
Situated on 50+ acres of mixed forest, there is approximately 12 kms of established trail. The park is divided by the grass area as “upper and lower sections”. The upper section is typically opened early and remains dry and usable throughout the season. Terrain on the upper section is varied, with smoother flowy sections, rocky and somewhat challenging elevation changes and tighter single track trails through the trees. The lower section is naturally a wetter area with much of the natural land drainage moving through this part of the park. This trail section is the known expert trail and is occasionally closed to protect the trail system in wet times of the year. Please do not enter this area if orange snow fence is up blocking the entrance point.
Amenities:
In 2025 we will creating a brand new closed course trail for youth in this park. This will be a wider trail with suitable chaperoning viewing and a flowy and beginner friendly surfacing and layout. There is a pit toilet on site. No garbage collection on site so please pack out everything you bring in.
Users:
All current NSORRA members are welcome to use this park from dawn to dusk when posted as open.
There is a landowner cabin on site and riders are asked to NOT drive on the grass in front of the cabin or use the facility or equipment left on site for any reason. Please respect our generous landowner and just use the wonderful trails.
If you encounter any damage, or maintenance issues while using the ride park, please report them to info@nsorra.ca 902-233-2527 as soon as possible so they can be attended to.
Please close the gate when you exit.
